Guy's Ezine 138 - Tips for Network Utilities
The purpose of this week's ezine is to give you tips for networking
programs. Most of the utilities are free, or shareware.
This utility provides detailed help for getting systems to talk with one
another on a home network. The idea of Network Magic to help XP or Vista computer talk to routers, digital
cameras printers and other hardware.
Network Magic reduces frustration and
saves time by simplifying and automating set up, management, and repair of home
and small office networks.
Update: One reader kindly wrote in saying Network
Magic was not that helpful on his Vista machine - eventually he had to remove
it.

Visit Network Magic
NetLimiter is a useful tool for measuring internet traffic. If
you have a network connected to the internet you can use NetLimiter to set
limits for download or upload transfer. Even if you have no need to limit,
the real-time traffic measurements may be of interest. There are three
versions, Free, Lite and Pro.

One of Paul DeBrino's favourites. Network Notepad is a freeware program
for creating interactive network diagrams. You can select network objects
from the supplied library and drag them into the diagram. If you wish you
can export the diagram as a bitmap file.
This is a tricky product to define, but a fun product to use. I say
again this is a freeware product so why not give it a trial and see if it helps
with your network diagrams and configuration.
